What to check before redesigning a website

redesignSEOtrackingDo not start with visuals
A redesign should begin with evidence from the current site. Before changing layouts, review the pages that get traffic, the pages that create enquiries, the searches that already rank and the URLs that need to be preserved.
Without that audit, a redesign can accidentally remove useful content, break redirects or hide contact routes that were already working.
Build the launch checklist early
Map old URLs to new URLs, protect metadata where it still makes sense, keep strong internal links, set up form and call tracking, and test mobile speed before launch. Useful planning pages include website design, website redesign SEO checklist, website cost calculator and website audit.
Measure after launch
Check rankings, traffic, forms, calls and crawl errors after the new site goes live. A redesign is not finished when the pages look better; it is finished when the important paths still work.
